盛岡城跡公園(岩手公園)～Morioka Castle Ruins Park
不来方（こずかた）城と呼ばれる南部氏の居城跡。啄木や賢治もよく訪れたといわれる。日本の都市公園100選の一つである盛岡城跡公園は、盛岡城主の居城跡を利用した公園です。「The ruins of the Nanbu clan’s castle called Kozukata Castle. It is said that Takuboku and Kenji often visited. Morioka Castle Site Park, one of Japan’s 100 city parks, is a park that uses the ruins of the castle of the lord of Morioka Castle.」
寺町通り（岩手県盛岡市）～Teramachi Street
市中心部から北寄りの名須川町界隈は、お寺や神社が十社余り続く寺の町。この周辺にお寺が集中したのは南部盛岡藩時代のことである。藩ではその権威と城下の繁栄を願って、領内の由緒ある寺を二つの地区に移した。それが寺町通りのある。「The neighborhood of Nasukawa-cho, north of the city center, is a town of temples with more than ten temples and shrines. It was during the period of Nanbu Morioka Domain that temples were concentrated in this area. The clan, wishing for its authority and the prosperity of the castle town, moved the venerable temples in its territory to two districts. That is where Teramachi Street is located.」
岩手銀行赤レンガ館（Bank of Iwate Red Brick Building）
赤煉瓦造りに緑のドームとルネッサンス風の輪郭の厳格さを現わしており、当時の洋風建築の特徴をほぼ完全な姿で伝えている。内部には付け柱を用い、天井に石膏モチーフを施す等豪華な内装が明治期の銀行建築の姿を良く示している。「The red brick building, green dome, and Renaissance-style rigorous contours convey almost perfectly the characteristics of Western-style architecture at the time. The luxurious interior, such as the use of pillars and plaster motifs on the ceiling, is a good example of a bank building in the Meiji period.」
盛岡八幡宮（Morioka Hachiman Shrine）
延宝8年(1680)、第29代南部重信公によって建立された盛岡八幡宮。農業、工業、商業、学問、衣食住など、人間生活の根源の神として古来より地域の人々から崇められていいます。「Morioka Hachimangu Shrine was built in 1680 by the 29th Nanbu Shigenobu. Since ancient times, it has been revered by local people as the god of the roots of human life, including agriculture, industry, commerce, learning, food, clothing and housing.」
わんこそばの老舗 東家 本店
明治40年創業の「東家 本店」は、岩手名物わんこそばで有名なそば料理のお店です。「Founded in 1907, Azumaya Honten is a soba restaurant famous for its Iwate specialty, wanko soba.」
名物のわんこそばコースのほか、伝統のそば料理をコースにした「南部そば会席」や、郷土料理で南部の“晴れ食”を再現した「南部お振舞い膳」など、岩手の伝統料理を堪能することができます。
